Professional food services with a nonprofit mission
Our chefs have experience in fine dining and hospitality management, and we’re focused on making sure that everyone gets food that they want to eat and that they recognize from their culture.
Culinary Edge was started when a local Winnipeg refugee shelter requested food for 300 people daily, and they needed something that would appeal to the cultural sensibilities of the newcomers that were arriving at their doors. We stepped up and have been making sure that when people arrive, they are fed. Over the course of a couple weeks, our experienced kitchen staff were able to deliver portioned packed meals for them to serve to their community.
We also believe that newcomers should have a chance to learn employment skills and get local references to be able to join the workforce. As a part of CMWI, our chefs train and supervise newcomers so they can work in professional kitchens here in Canada.
